Kingston Heath's story began at Elsternwick in 1909. Dan Soutar designed the club's new Cheltenham course, which opened in 1925, before Alister MacKenzie supplied its famous bunkering plan in 1926.
The new course opened without a single bunker. By 1945, Vernon Morcom had shaped more than 130 of them.
