The Brisbane Golf Club was formed in 1896 at Chelmer and moved to its present Yeerongpilly home in 1904. Carnegie Clark prepared the original design for the new course.
Clark's design fee was ten pounds and eleven shillings, and the first Chelmer course opened only five weeks after the club's foundation meeting.
